I am a Fine Arts Graduate from Jamia and after Post Graduation with specialisation in Painting, I traversed the path of being a teacher, a textile designer, a muralist, a painter and now a mosaicist.
Fascinated by the possibilities of sharing knowledge and igniting young minds, I took up teaching of art at reputed schools such as Mother’s International, APJ Design and Mirambika in Delhi.
My love affair with mosaics started in 2009, when I was teaching in a school in Delhi. Since then mosaics have captured my imagination and make up the bulk of my creative pursuits. When I shifted from Delhi and settled in Goa, I started doing mosaics full time. Goa, with its history of mosaic art offered me a canvas to explore new possibilities, both in restoring & in innovating the art of mosaics.
To me, working on mosaics is meditative. Each piece of tile has its unique and well defined place and purpose in completing the big picture. Individually each piece combines with the rest to narrate a story. Mosaic art is akin to life and the world around us. Each one of us has a unique place and purpose in the scheme of things and together we complete the world.
I have conducted mosaic workshops at Zorba the Buddha in Delhi and off late have been doing so at Goa Chitra Museum and Kala Clan, Goa. In 2015-16, I conducted Art Appreciation Courses at St. Xaviers College, Goa. I also conduct residential workshops where in students come and stay over at my residence to learn the art of mosaics.
Cosmosaic specializes in architectural mosaics done on floors, walls, ceilings, pillars using ceramic or glass tiles, pebbles, marble etc. These add a character to the interior or exterior living spaces and can be either custom designed or made as per the brief of the client or in collaboration with an architect.
Mosaics make a brand stand out. A brand logo or name signage when executed in an artistic mosaic adds a touch of intimacy and rootedness to the brand. In a tourist paradise like Goa, hospitality brands and homes alike use our services to immortalize their brand or names on walls.
